Seborrhoeic keratosis are extremely common, harmless and non-contagious skin growths. They have a ‘stuck on’ appearance and range in colour from brown to black. These benign lesions are caused by an overgrowth of skin cells and most frequently found in older adults, particularly after the age of 40 and can be hereditary.
They may be scaly, waxy or rough, and can develop anywhere on the body.
Advanced electrolysis uses electrocautery as an effective way to remove unsightly or irritated seborrhoeic keratosis. The procedure gently cauterises the tissue, lifting away the lesion. A scab will form and naturally fall off over 7 to 14 days, leaving smooth skin. Larger Seb K’s may need more than one treatment.
