Advanced electrolysis offers a safe, precise and effective way to remove or reduce a wide range of benign skin blemishes using a precise, controlled form of cauterisation.
Due to their benign nature, many of these lesions are no longer dealt with by the NHS but many clients seek out treatment because they find them uncomfortable, unsightly or simply annoying, so having them removed with advanced electrolysis is the perfect way to restore smoother, clearer skin and improve confidence.
Advantages of advanced electrolysis over other treatments such as cryotherapy are its ability to be so precise in its delivery, only treating the blemish and not affecting the healthy tissues in the surrounding area as well as its ability to get to the root of viral lesions such as warts.
Advanced electrolysis uses short wave diathermy – a gentle controlled form of heat – to precisely cauterise or coagulate a lesion. A very fine, sterile, disposable needle targets only the blemish avoiding healthy skin in the surrounding area.
The technique used will vary depending on the type of blemish being treated; sometimes lesions are removed during the session or they are desiccated (dried out) and form a scab which sloughs off over the course of a week or two. The sensation can feel hot and stingy but is usually very well tolerated. Some lesions require a higher intensity heat than others, but this will be discussed during your consultation so you are fully prepared prior to treatment.
I do my upmost to make you feel comfortable, informed and never rush a treatment. Advanced electrolysis is the most precise method of blemish removal and as such gives excellent results so I will always treat cautiously to make sure the end result is the best it can be. This may mean that some lesions will need more than one treatment but I will always discuss this with you at our consultation stage.
Usually following your treatment, the lesion will look worse before it gets better and a scab will form where the blemish was, which will naturally fall away within 7-14 days leaving behind smoother clearer skin underneath.
