Milia are white, pearl-like bumps that sit just beneath the skin’s surface. They’re formed when skin cells become compacted and trapped under the skin, creating small, firm cysts.
Most commonly found around the eyes, cheeks and upper face but can appear anywhere. Milia aren’t spots or acne and can’t be squeezed out at home – attempting to do so can potentially cause scarring.
I use 2 methods of milia removal: the first uses a sterile, disposable lance to make a tiny incision above the milia which can then be gently pushed out allowing for immediate removal or for very tiny, numerous or difficult to reach milia I use advanced electrolysis to deliver heat directly into the milia which liquifies the trapped keratin, allowing the body to clear it over the next few days. Only a small pin-point scab may form, which naturally heals within a few days leaving smooth, clear skin.
